Hot melt glue guns use glue sticks that
are melted inside the gun by a continuous-duty heating element, which the user
then forces through the pistol with either a mechanical trigger mechanism or by
using direct finger pressure. At first, the glue that is forced out of the
heated nozzle is hot enough to burn and even cause skin blisters. Hot melt
adhesives are used and dispensed by hot melt glue guns, which are portable
devices. Tubular sticks made of hot melt thermoplastics were developed to
replace water-based adhesives that lose strength when exposed to moisture. Even
more solid materials can be put together.
